We are located on the Ile d’Oléron, a stone’s throw from the picturesque fishing port of La Cotinière. This island is the largest and we think the most beautiful off the Atlantic coast of France. At the end of our garden is the Atlantic Ocean where we have an attractive sandy beach that leads out to delightful rock pools. It is simply magical to have breakfast on top pf our private dune overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or sipping an aperitif watching the sun set. In between these times you could join the surfers on the beach in front of us, peddle through the vines, laze by the pool, stroll along the beach, meander through the local markets or visit the numerous places of interest both on the Island and on the ‘continent’ (otherwise know as mainland France!). Whatever you choose to do, you will at the end of your stay find it very hard to leave!
Set in 1 ½ acres of grounds is the large pool (12x6 metres) with plenty of sun-loungers. There are also sitting areas in the shade. Our 50-metre long private dune-top with its uninterrupted 180-degree view of the Atlantic Ocean is available for your pleasure.
Breakfast can be served on the dune, on your private terrace or in the dining room. We are located on the Ile d’Oléron, a 20 minute walk from the picturesque fishing port of La Cotinière and its good selection of simple restaurants. For your convenience, there is a large drawing room overlooking the pool which we make available for our guests use in the afternoon. When it is a little chillier, we set a warming wood fire in the fireplace.
